Wedding: Backyard Beauty

In October of 2015 I had the privilege of working with two very close friends. I started off just as their florist, but soon they were asking if I would step in as their wedding coordinator. I have a background in event planning from my 9-5 job, so I felt confident that I could do it and was honored that they asked me to be so involved. It was rewarding and challenging to be friend, florist, and wedding coordinator, but in the end it turned out amazing. They were married in a beautiful backyard in Encinitas, California on what may have been the hottest day of the whole year, but that didn't stop the happy couple and their guests from celebrating! The energy at this event was so much fun. So many details, from kale in the bouquets and boutonnieres because Kali is a health nut to incorporating Jule's family tartan and thistle into the overall design. We were able to create an elegant setting with belly bars and bistro lights, while still allowing room to spread out and mingle. With a menu of grilled cheese, tomato soup, and a build your own ice cream cookie sandwich, guests were happy and full as they danced the night away. Truly one of the most exhausting yet rewarding events of my career.
